  2. Hello Rena. I am an Native Canadian from Waywayseecappo, Manitoba, Canada. I just finished watching “Once Were Warriors” and wanted to learn more about the characters and found your website. Oh yeah, before I forget, I love that picture of you in that guys picture book. It must have been so fun dressing up for that picture. You look awesome!!!
Also, the autographed pictures of your with your character from Star Wars is so beautiful too!
I just wanted to let you know that you are such a beautiful women and I loved your role as Beth Heke.
Keep up the good work Beth!!!

  3. Once Were Warriors is one of my favorite films – so wonderfully different from the Hollywood assembly line; thru this film it made me want to research the Maori culture, otherwise I would not have known. This morning I discovered that there are sequel films to Once Were Warriors, which I am very happy to find out and will rent very soon!
    Keep up the good work!-
    a fan

  4. Rena!
I saw “Once Were Warriors” again, recently. It is as good as the first time. I want to say how much I enjoyed your performance, along with the rest of the cast. Hope you are well, and God bless you!

    PS: Where is Mamaengaroa Kerr-Bell?

  5. Seeing your movie “Once Were Warriors” not only reminds me of my childhood; growing up with fear…but it reminds me of my late brother…he is the one that told me about this movie and how powerful it was. We are going to watch it as part of “Sobriety Awareness Month”. I am an Inupiaq Eskimo, from Barrow, Alaska…I want to thank you for your courage in making this movie. It helped me in a lot of ways.
