  1. Hi Rena,
I would like you to know how much amazed I am by such a strong a powerful performance by you in Once Were Warriors. I have watched this movie after 7 years from its release date. I absolutely loved your work as an artist.
You truly are a born actor.

  2. Just rewatched Once Were Warriors and was again struck by the grit and power of the film and your performance. Absolutely outstanding.

I have wondered over the years if Keri Hume’s “The Bone People” would lend itself to the screen and hope, if someone ever thinks it would, that you are approached for it.

  3. Hey Rena! Was going thru some old photo’s of Jades’ (You guys worked together on Rapanui)& came across heaps of you guys – Tania, Lawrence, Karaitiana & the mob. So thought I’d try & look you up & here you are. Lookin’ good girl!! So just dropping in to say hi. Jade remembers those days with fond affection & plenty of stories. Lol!!

  4. Rena it’s Boo from Kentish Town

A friend of mine in NZ led me to this site, everyone seems to be very proud of you well done.

Just written a very personal note and realised it would be visible to ALL! So deleted it…. Love to hear from you when you have a moment.

    Love Boo xxx

  5. Dear old friend, i sit here with my new scanner scanning slides from my days in highschool of Moerewa! heartwarming chill! send you warm thoughts of friendship, Lilja.

  6. You came into my shop a couple of times but today I was brave enough to say “I know who you are” 🙂 You are an amazing and talented actress and you are why NZ should be proud of our actresses. You are a true lady.

  7. Rena Owen! Your role (and the entire film) in “Once Were Warriors” was so beautiful. As an archaeologist, it inspired me to do my own research on the Maori culture and history. You are truly one of the most gifted artist’s EVER!

  8. Once were warriors was one of the best films I have ever seen, and your participation was great. Your are a very attractive woman, but not only that, you have much more than beauty and many things to give to people. Thanks !!
