  2. I really think that I may be related to Rena Owen. When I first saw her it blew my mind and I wish I knew for sure. There are so many possible connections and it’s not often that you find the last name Owen without the S. I have family in the Netherlands and England and I seriously wonder. Much success and blessings to you!

    • Hi Tyra. In brief, my great Grandfather was Welsh which is where the ‘Owen’ name comes from. Owen with an S as in ‘Owens’ is English. All I know is that he was a Whaler and he hooked up with a Maori woman in New Zealand and they begat my Grandfather, Arthur Owen Junior. I don’t know too much regarding my Welsh ancestors but I do know that ‘Owen’ is a common name in Wales, so we could be related 🙂

  3. Recently a friend posted on Facebook asking for movies you never get tired of watching. I remembered Once Were Warriors. You were so good in that movie. Being familiar with an alcoholic father and household, it touched me deeply. I love the whole cast, but your performance was the best.

  4. Hi Beth you remember
Me the skinny little white boy from the land of the long white cloud.
    We should catchup.
Give me a call if you still have my number

  5. Kia Ora,
I’ve been a fan since I saw “Once Were Warriors” and now a fan of your character in Siren!
I hope you enjoy working in BC.
My father grew up in Kaitaia. Most of my family has moved to Aukland but some have stayed.

    From,
    A big Canadian fan💕🌈☁️

  6. Hi Rena,

I see the movie Siren has finally been released last month and have yet to see it. Anyways, hope you are doing well. A friend of mine and I will be visiting Los Angeles sometime in August this year. We have been fans of Once Were Warriors since it first came out back in 1994 and it would be awesome to meet you in person, if you are in town. Regards.
